COVID-19 Emergency Orders

After Governor Abbott's disaster proclamation entered on March 13, 2020, later that same day, the Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeals entered a First Emergency Order Regarding the COVID-19 State of Disaster modifying and suspending certain provisions related to court proceedings.  The Office of Court Administration has indicated that this order "applies in all courts and to all case types [and] is meant to provide courts with flexibility to delay or modify proceedings as necessary to address the disaster."

Assignment of Family Cases

Effective February 6, 2018, all pending and future family cases are now assigned to the 446th District Court. CLICK HERE to view the Transfer Order.

e-Filing Is Now Mandatory

Ector County is now under the Mandates for e-Filing in Civil, Family, and Criminal case types.

Ector County Detention Center Jail Records Search

Online Public Access Jail Records Search is now available.  For additional information contact the office of the Ector County Sheriff.

Electronic Service Address - REQUIRED

Effective October 1, 2016, all Texas attorneys are required to designate with the State Bar an official electronic service email address for the statewide e-filing system.  CLICK HERE to view the Texas Supreme Court's Order.  If no new email address was provided, the Texas State Bar defaulted to the email address already on file.

To update your electronic service address to the Texas Bar, login and fill out the online form at texasbar.com/eservice.
